KPA was founded in 1990 to improve the competitive position of its customers by promoting the implementation of advanced management methodologies. The company is currently involved in a wide range of organizations from the industrial, service and public sectors.

4. Statistical Consulting and Analytical Methods

The Statistical Consulting activities of KPA range from Industrial Statistics, including Six Sigma implementations, SPC and DoE, to Credit Scoring, Risk Management, Reliability of hardware and software, Data Mining, Biostatistics and design of clinical trials. These activities are conducted as stand alone activities or in conjunction with the various alliances listed below.

4.1 Biostatistics and the m2M initiative

Clinical Trials at Work - a workshop with the MetaGen statistical simulation platform for clinical trial design. This one day workshop is a joint KPA-Greenfield Research workshop. 4.2 Industrial Statistics:

The KPA Center for Robust Design and Industrial Statistics - a center for

special projects in statistical data analysis and operations research. The center is conducting projects in various European countriies and in a wide variety of applications areas including electronics, semiconductors, contract manufacturing, chemical engineering, composite materials and pharmaceutical compounds and products. 4.3 Data Mining and Risk Management:

KPA has successfully performed several data mining projects related to the implementation of the Basel II accord on credit and operational risk management. Specifically KPA is leading the Operation Risks Vertical Stream of the MUSING project integrating semantic unstructured data with structured data using association rules and Bayesian Networks. 4.4 Customer Satisfaction Surveys Benchmark and Nonstandard Analysis of Survey Data:

KPA is a partner in a major initiative with the University of Torino and the University of Milan to establish benchmarking capabilities in the area of customer satisfaction surveys. For more on this initiative click here.

Other activities

Creativity and Change Management

KPA has set up a strategic alliance with Crescendo-Italia, a consulting firm specializing in change management and creative processes. Crescendo-Italia offers a complete package of creativity management tools based on experiences in EU funded creativity research. In partnership with KPA, this knowledge is now made available all over Europe.

The Israel ESPINODE

The Israeli Software Process Improvement Node was established at KPA to support Software Process Improvement Experiments (PIE) under the European Community ESSI initiative, in the context of FP4. This knowledge center specializes in CMM and CMMI assessments, Software Metrics and Software Development Management Dashboards, Software Quality Assurance, PIEs, Configuration Management, Requirements Management and Project Management Key Process Areas etc...Link to Israel ESPINODE

The KPA Cost Reduction Initiative

The KPA Cost Reduction Initiative is providing companies and organisations with focused activities aimed at reducing expenses in telecommunication, travel, facility management and purchasing. Specifically we can significantly reduce costs by optimizing communication package contracts and exploiting VOIP technologies. Facility management is an area that poses unique challenges in terms of cost calculation and quality measurement. The Pareto Plus model developed by the KPA Cost Reduction Initiative offers a unique model for assessing cost and quality of cleaning operations in large office space and industrial buildings. The KPA Management Team


Ron S. Kenett, Ph.D. is Chairman and CEO of the KPA Group and KPA Ltd., International Professor Associate at the Center for Research in Risk Engineering, NYU-Poly, New York, USA and Research Professor at the University of Torino, Torino, Italy . He has over 25 years of experience in restructuring and improving the competitive position of organizations by integrating statistical methods, process analysis, supporting technologies and modern human resource management systems. As a Professor of Management at the State University of New York, he was awarded the General Electric Quality Management Fellowship. For nine years he served as Director of Statistical Methods for Tadiran Telecommunications Corporation and, previously, as researcher at Bell Laboratories in New Jersey. His 160 publications are on topics in industrial statistics, performance appraisal systems and quality management. Ron is co-author of seven books including Modern Industrial Statistics: Design and Control of Quality and Reliability (with S. Zacks and a forward by Robert Galvin, Past Chairman of Motorola Inc.), Duxbury Press, 1998, Spanish edition 2000, 2nd paperpack edition, 2002, Chinese edition 2004, Multivariate Quality Control: Theory and Applications (with C. Fuchs), Marcel Dekker Inc., 1998, Software Process Quality: Management and Control (with E. Baker), Marcel Dekker Inc., 1999, Process Improvement and CMMI for Systems and Software (with E. Baker), Taylor and Francis Auerbach publications, 2010 and Operational Risk Management: A Practical Approach to Intelligent Data Analysis (co edited with Y. Raanan), John Wiley and Sons, 2010. Ron's Ph.D. is in Mathematics from the Weizmann Institute of Science. A partial list of companies he has consulted for includes: Intel, AT&T, AVX, EMC, National Semiconductors, Motorola, Dun & Bradstreet, Tadiran, Applied Materials, Israel Aircraft Industries, Amdocs and ECI. He is Chairman of the Board of Takeoff, an organization whose mission is to help start-up companies develop business and marketing plans and establish strategic partnerships and a Member of the Board of Directors of Optimata and D-Pharm. Professor Kenett is Editor in Chief of the Wiley Encyclopedia of Statistics in Quality and Reliability, a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society, Senior Member of the American Society for Quality, a Past Member of the Board of the Israeli Statistical Association and Past President of ENBIS, the European Network for Business and Industrial Statistics.

Nili Bergida is a KPA Senior Consultant and coordinates KPA's marketing and infrastructure development initiatives. Nili is in charge of KPA's Customer Satisfaction Surveys projects and is KPA's senior expert in international projects. She has an MBA and a B.A. in economics.

 

Ariel Kenett is a KPA Senior Consultant with internal responsibility for human resource development and knowledge management. Ariel leads Organizational Development, Employee Surveys and Customer Surveys projects. He has a B.A. in economics.

Yossi Shuchmacher, Ph.D. is a KPA Senior Consultant and member of the KPA Organizational Development and Change Management team. Former VP Human Resources in global companies such as EDS and National Semiconductors and Organizational Development and Training Manager of Teva Pharmaceuticals. Yossi is an experienced and highly reputable management coach, Human Resources Management expert and Organizational Development consultant to companies and organizations in the private and public sector.

Yossi Raanan, Ph.D. is a KPA Senior Consultant and member of the KPA Strategic Planning team. Former dean of the business management school of the academic course of the College of Management. PhD in operations research from Cornell University. Senior Lecturer in the College of Management. Chairman of Tadmor - The Central School for Hoteliers. Director and Chairman of the Lahak Investment Committee - Management of Trust Funds Ltd. and consultant to companies and organizations in the business sector.

Iris Biel Yechiely
Iris is managing KPA's office and is in charge of HR and Resource management.

She has worked at KPA since 1994. B.A. in textile design from Shenkar, Israel's leading textile design school.
